League of Women Voters hosts a virtual candidate forum for Dist. 200, Wheaton City Council

The League of Women Voters of Wheaton invites you to a virtual forum to learn about candidates running for Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 and Wheaton City Council.

A virtual forum will be recorded and posted on the league's Facebook page, and Wheaton Public Access TV will also broadcast the event.

The league has decided to conduct a forum in response to multiple community requests for a forum to be held in addition our Candidate Video Guide.

The candidate forum will be on Saturday, March 6, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for District 200 candidates, and 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for Wheaton City Council South District.

The public will be encouraged to submit their questions in advance to the League of Women Voters at info@wheatonlwvil.org.

At the forum, the candidates will each give a one-minute opening statement. Candidates will have an opportunity to respond to questions that have been submitted in advance of the forum.

Questions will be screened to avoid duplication.

Candidates will have one minute to respond to each question. League members will time candidate's responses to ensure equity. Following the question period each candidate

will have one minute to make a closing statement. Candidates must be present; a candidate's representative will not be allowed to make a statement.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization and does not support or endorse candidates but does sponsor candidate forums as a service to the voters of the community.
