Trickster Cultural Center to reopen to the public March 2

On Tuesday, March 2, the Trickster Cultural Center, 190 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg, will re-open to the public.

Visitors to the center can enjoy Trickster's latest exhibits "A Place of Teaching," in partnership with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Field Museum; and Healing From Domestic Violence-Mashkawizii, featuring photos and stories of male and female veterans who are survivors of domestic violence.

Throughout the day, guests will be treated to displays and mini workshops featuring native music, arts and crafts, storytelling and much more!

Works of local artists will be featured in the pop-up gallery and visitors can browse through the resources library to brush up on Native American history.

Native jewelry, crafts, poaery, instruments, clothing, skincare and more are for sale at the gift shop and though it is February outside, guests can take a stroll through the native gardens section.

On Thursdays, Feb. 18 and March 4, the cultural center is hosting "Online Native Flute Lessons with Bill Miller," a two-session series with the three-time Grammy Award winner. He will introduce the basic fundamentals of playing the flute in "Key of G". The sessions will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Note: participants must have a flute in the Key of G with them. Cost is $20. Register on EventBrite.com.

Trickster's weekly veterans meeting will be taking place on the second floor gallery. All guests are welcome to attend.

This event is free and open to all ages. No reservations are needed to attend.

In accordance with state COVID-19 regulations, the Trickster Cultural Center practices social distancing. All guests are required to wear masks upon entry.
