At the Feb. 18 Bloomingdale Township Board meeting, Branka Poplonski was sworn in as township clerk to fill the unexpired term of Joyce Hundhausen, who passed away Dec. 24, 2019.

18th Judicial Circuit Judge Jim McCluskey administered the oath of office to Branka.

Township Supervisor Michael D. Hovde Jr. stated "I am pleased to appoint Branka Poplonski to the position of township clerk. She has been a dedicated public servant during her time as township trustee, and has been an active community member participating in the chamber of commerce, and charitable boards."

Hovde continued, "I would like to thank Judge Jim McCluskey for taking the time to visit Bloomingdale Township to swear in Branka, and I also thank him for his kind remarks."

Branka was previously elected Bloomingdale Township Trustee in 2017.
