Annual Run with the Nuns 5K returns Oct. 20 to Lemont

The School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King are hosting their annual Run with the Nuns 5K at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at their Mount Assisi Center and Convent campus, 13860 Main St. in Lemont.

Runners and walkers are welcome to enjoy the picturesque scenery through the natural hills and wooded areas of our all terrain course. Participants receive a medal and long-sleeve, dry fit shirt. Shirt sizes guaranteed until Thursday, Sept. 26.

They even have a virtual race option for those who can't be there.

The fee is $40 or $20 for children, age 12 or younger, who walk or run with a parent. Day-of registration will be $5 extra; credit card payment only.

They are looking for runners or walkers, sponsors, donors to the swag bags, volunteers, and businesses to host a free vendor table.

This fun event includes a DJ, Split the Pot, spirit wear sales, vendor tables and, of course, running nuns!

Proceeds support the many ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis, both on and off the Mt. Assisi hill.

Run on your own or walk the course with the Sisters. Bring the whole family!
