Area Attorney to Rappel Schaumburg Office Building to Raise Funds

Like many of his peers, Lavelle Law attorney Chance Badertscher looks for ways to unwind from the rigors of practicing law. Not many, though, will spend their Saturday morning rappelling down a 21-story building.

The effort is more than just escaping the office for Badertscher. He is among a group of climbing enthusiasts who will participate in Habit for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley's High Ropes fundraiser. Badertscher will be among a group that rappels the glimmering office building at 425 North Martingale Road in Schaumburg.

"I actually participated in this event in the fall of 2017 and really enjoyed the experience," said Badertscher. "I'm looking forward to tackling this challenge and helping raise funds through the effort."

Badertscher, who was married earlier this month, said that both he and his wife Hanna are climbing and outdoor enthusiasts who are always up for a challenge. As a supporter of the work done by Habit for Humanity, this event presented an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

To date donors have committed more than $2,000 in support of Badertscher. Donations can be made at http://bit.ly/2WMYHG4. While the event takes place June 22, the donation site will remain live for several additional weeks.

"Everyone deserves the basic necessities and I'm happy to take on this challenge to raise money and awareness of such an important cause," said Badertscher. "I hope that others will join me by making a donation."

As for what lies ahead for the adventurous newlyweds, the next outing has been planned. "We're taking my mom skydiving for her birthday later this summer. I guess the sense of adventure runs in the family."
