Mason Rivers to perform at free summer concert series in Downers Grove

On Tuesday, June 18, the Downers Grove Park District continues the Summer Concert Series with country band Mason Rivers.

The free, family-friendly concerts are held at Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park, 1036 Grove St. (just west of Main Street) in Downers Grove.

This week's food vendors will be: Robinson's Ribs, Fancy Fajita, Wells Street Popcorn and Every Day's A Sundae.

Concerts begin at 7 p.m. Food, beer and wine sales will begin at 6 p.m.

Adult beverages are available to visitors ages 21 and up for $6 (ID required) a ticket and water will be available for $2 a bottle. Beer options will include Stella Artois, Bell's Oberon, Bell's Two Hearted Ale and Alter Center Line. Wine and alcoholic coolers include cabernet, chardonnay, pinot noir and riesling in addition to Pura Still Blackberry, Seagram's Jamaican Me Happy and CiderBoys Peach Country.

On June 25, Feel Good Party Band will perform party hits from the 1960s to today. This week's food vendors will be: Sarpino's Pizzeria, Fancy Fajita, Wells Street Popcorn and Every Day's A Sundae.

On July 2, Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will perform. It will be followed on July 9 by Mellencougar, a John Mellencamp tribute act, and on July 16 by pop band Semple. On July 23, Piano Man, an Elton John/Billy Joel tribute, will perform, followed on July 30 by country band Hillbilly Rockstarz.

On Aug. 6, Dancing Queen will perform ABBA tunes. On Aug. 13, Fool House will perform hits from the 1990s. On Aug. 20, The StingRays will perform rock & roll oldies.
