Fifth annual golf outing June 17 to benefit Sleepy Hollow resident

Golf "fore" a good cause at the fifth annual Eileen Strong Golf Outing event on Monday, June 17, at The Golf Club of Illinois, 1575 Edgewood Drive, Algonquin, in support of Eileen Reedy, a resident of Sleepy Hollow. In addition to the golf outing support, considerations for giving a tax-deductible items are requested for fundraising efforts.

Registration for the golf outing begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Cocktails, dinner and auction events will round out the event beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Proceeds benefit the Help Hope Live North-Central Spinal Injury Cord Fund in Eileen Reedy's honor.

Reedy experienced a fall in 2014 that has left her paralyzed from the chest down. With the community's support, she has made much progress and regained some movement in her arms and legs and can walk with her walker for a short distance.

Proceeds from the fifth annual golf outing will be collected through the nonprofit HelpHOPELive to help cover the uninsured expenses associated with Eileen's injury, which exceeds $150,000 annually. Fundraising has allowed Reedy to access care and therapy that wouldn't have been possible with insurance alone.

Admission is $175 per player or $700 for a team of four.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will directly benefit Eileen's medical expenses through HelpHOPELive's North-Central Spinal Cord Injury Fund.
