The Lake County Community Foundation to host stART Something - Lake County Warehouse Art Party

WAUKEGAN, IL (AUGUST 2018) - Mark your calendar! On November 10, 2018 from 6:30-10 p.m., The Lake County Community Foundation (LCCF) will celebrate 15 years of philanthropy by hosting stART Something Lake County - a Warehouse Art Party. This eclectic celebration will feature a dozen artists creating and showing art, live on site, to be auctioned off in support of LCCF's Forever Fund. A Lake Bluff warehouse will be transformed into the perfect backdrop for this interactive and casually sophisticated evening that will feature a mix of the region's most exciting local artists in action, libations, eats and local tunes.

"We are so thrilled to celebrate fifteen years of giving," says Miah Armour, Executive Director of LCCF. "This gathering celebrates the power of art and philanthropy to build vibrant communities. Right here in Lake County - the region that we call home - we're inviting people to reach beyond our respective neighborhoods and zip codes to create a uniquely Lake County event. More than an exhibition, the event will draw an eclectic mix of artists with Lake County ties - from painters, sculptors, jewelers to street artists, muralists, cartoonists, and photographers. All will be located throughout the warehouse, creating live or interactively explaining their methods and how Lake County has inspired their work."

The first artist to sign on this summer was renowned local artist, Mark McMahon, second of a three generation Lake County artist family. As a special tribute to illustrate how art and philanthropy can build a vibrant community, McMahon was commissioned to create an iconic map of Lake County in his signature style. The original piece will debut on November 10 and auctioned off at the event, with signed prints available for order and sale.
