Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital again one of '100 Great Community Hospitals' in U.S.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove once again is included in the national list of "100 Great Community Hospitals" published by Becker's Hospital Review.

The hospitals on this list are spread across the country, some not far from major metro areas and some in rural communities. Many of the hospitals on the list have been recognized for their clinical quality, operational excellence and economic impact on the surrounding areas. Becker's has published a version of this list annually since 2011. For the purposes of this list, Becker's defines a "community hospital" as one with fewer than 550 beds.

Becker's noted Good Samaritan's "exponential growth in the last four decades" in addition to its features of serving as the only Level 1 trauma center in DuPage County and its certified Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit.

Dominica Tallarico, executive vice president of Advocate Aurora Health Care's Central Region, said the recognition is validation of the high quality, safe clinical care provided at Good Samaritan Hospital.

"Much of our success can be attributed to our clinicians. By working together, great advancements have been made in our clinical, safety and service outcomes. We remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients," said Tallarico.
