The "Eyes " have it: The Eastern Screech Owl is the smallest resident owl in Illinois and can be viewed at the River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook. I was fascinated by how he squeezed into a small opening in a wooden perch and followed me with his head and those mesmerizing eyes reflected in this photo.
