'The Mystery Hour' to perform live show in Woodstock

"The Mystery Hour" late night talk show, a television show broadcast on various FOX, ABC, NBC and CW stations across the country, will perform a live show at the Woodstock Opera House as part of Groundhog Days at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1.

The show will be customized for Woodstock, with local guests and videos created about Woodstock.

"We are pumped to be coming into Woodstock to do a show," said host Jeff Houghton. "The town is beautiful with great history, and such a unique part of that history is the filming of 'Groundhog Day.' We can't wait to celebrate this place with everybody."

The four-time Emmy Award-winning show is formatted like a traditional late night talk show with interviews, music and comedy. Guests for the Woodstock show include Bob Hudgins, who was a location manager for the movie "Groundhog Day"; Steve Gavers, with the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation; the music of Denny Diamond; and a performance by the Merrie UkuLadies.

The crew, as well as Houghton, will be arriving early to shoot videos around town to be used at the show on Saturday evening.

"The Mystery Hour" is known for creating an energetic, live show, gathering the largest crowd in the country for each live taping in its home city of Springfield, Missouri. Now in its ninth season, "The Mystery Hour" has gained more than 60 million views online for various viral videos, most notably Instagram Husband.

"This show will not be televised," Houghton said. "It's definitely a you-had-to-be-there kind of experience."
