Wheaton church offers livestream worship for Easter
First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave., will hold its Maundy Thursday worship at 7 p.m. April 9. This will be a home communion service on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/firstpreswheaton.
The word "Maundy" is a derivation of the Latin "mandatum," which means "commandment." It refers to when Jesus, in the Upper Room during the Last Supper, said to the disciples: "I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other." John 13:34-35
Secure your own bread and juice.
The Good Friday Livestream will begin at 7 p.m. April 10. On this solemn day, our living rooms will become sanctuaries and our couches will become church pews. This may be the most memorable Good Friday we experience ever. Come together for scripture and music this Friday, April 10, on the church's YouTube channel.
On April 12, the Easter Sunday Worship will livestream at 9:30 and 11 a.m. at firstpreswheaton.org/livestream.
Invite family and friends to join them online to celebrate Jesus' resurrection!
