The Algonquin Rotary Club provides assistance to a variety of charitable causes and other community-based organizations that need help. The club is well-known for the annual Breakfast with Santa, held at Westfield Community School every December with a holiday breakfast, music, games and visits with Santa.

The club also sponsors the Gordon & Joan Larsen Scholarship as a yearly opportunity for local high school students interested in pursuing business or medical degrees to apply in the spring. For many years, they have partnered with the Algonquin Township Highway Department and St. Margaret Mary's Education Center to provide Friday and Saturday night shuttle bus service and parking during Founders Days. The club's most recent collaboration with the Founders Days Committee was selling hot pretzels and popcorn, which sold out completely. They also contribute to Rotary International causes, such as the eradication of polio.

The club is always looking for new members. Club meetings are at 7:15 a.m. every Wednesday at Port Edward Restaurant in Algonquin for the last 24 years. Check them out at www.facebook.com/Algonquin-Rotary-Club. Join them for breakfast and see what they are all about.
