Evening show with four bands to aid veterans in McHenry County

TLS Veterans, based in McHenry County, has been serving homeless veterans and their families for 20 years. In celebration of their achievements and to raise funds and greater awareness, the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake, will host an evening featuring four local bands at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.

The bands will be: Bourbon Country, a local country band including Randy Leggee; What About This, a Lakeside Festival rock band including Gary Reece and Crystal Lake Mayor Aaron Shepley; Roger Reupert and Friends, a jazz ensemble featuring Roger Reupert, formerly of the Listening Room in Crystal Lake, Bob Blazier and Friends, as well as recording artist Cheryl Wilson and award-winning jazz pianist Jeremy Kahn; and The Blues Crew, a blues band including John Todd, Charlie Long and John Blazier, featuring Roger Reupert, Jeremy Kahn, and Cheryl Wilson.

The evening will be emceed by John Dacosse of "The Steve Cochran Show" on WGN-radio. It will feature a special appearance by local guitar slinging blues prodigy Jimmy Nick. Consider giving your support for a fun event that supports local veterans.
