WinterFEST provides indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family

The Addison Park District invites you to the fifth annual WinterFEST, Sunday, January 10 at Community Park from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Admission to this event is free and participants will enjoy a variety of entertainment and activities both indoors and outdoors. Some outdoor activities are weather-dependent and may be slightly modified if there is a lack of snow.

Outdoor activities include horse-drawn wagon rides around Community Park, a S'mores roasting station, and weather-dependent activities such as sledding, snow painting, snowshoe races and a snowman building contest. Additionally, snow football, an igloo building contest, broomball and 3-on-3 hockey will be added for the 2016 event.

Warm up indoors at the children's craft stations, cookie decorating stations or play bingo while the kids run an obstacle course and enjoy the inflatable bounce-houses in the gym. Family games and a performance by the Westernette Baton Corp will also be held in the gym. Face painting will be offered for kids of all ages during the event. Hot chocolate, chili and concessions will be available for purchase indoors.

Because January 10th also marks the beginning of football's wildcard playoff games, a "Dad's Den" will be set up inside Community Rec Center featuring football on a large-screen TV. The Dad's Den is sponsored by Sunrise Electric of Addison.

Addison Park District is committed to providing the highest quality recreational opportunities and open space for everyone. The 2016 Winter Fun Guide is available in print and online with a full curriculum of leisure activities for all ages and lifestyles at www.addisonparks.org.
