South Elgin's Antonio Danesi hops over Prairie Ridge's Connor Schneider, who caught the ball on a fly, during the class 4A state baseball third place consolation game at Silver Cross Field in Joliet. A lot of baseball action shots happen around second base and involve force-outs, stolen base attempts, doubles, etc. This photo was taken with a 400mm lens and captures the runner's quick hopping instincts to avoid being tagged out. On the play though, Connor Schneider caught the ball for the third out. This photo was published in the Perspective column in the print edition of the Daily Herald.
