Comeback triumph for Libertyville
Libertyville’s girls volleyball team overcame some adversity and rallied for a road victory Wednesday night.
Freshman libero Morgan O’Brien led the way with 14 digs, as the Wildcats defeated Evanston 19-25, 25-13, 25-22.
The Wildcats won “despite giving up four inches across the net and with only nine healthy players,” coach Greg Loika said. Cassie Ostmeyer (4 aces, 8 assists) and Lizzie Apgar (9 assists) also played well for the Wildcats.
“Tough, accurate serving was a key for us,” Loika said.
Wauconda d. Woodstock: Susan Karhoff pounded 5 kills and LeAnne Sakowicz served 4 aces in the host Bulldogs’ 25-16, 25-8 win.
