Legislators to give insights on new session in Springfield at breakfast

The Metro West Council of Government will host its annual Legislative Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd., Geneva. It is a nonprofit organization that represents municipalities in Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties.
This year's event is sponsored by Metro West Gold Business Partner AT&T. Eileen Mitchell, vice president of external affairs for AT&T, will make introductory remarks. Area legislators who have confirmed their participation include: Rep. Keith Farnham, a Republican serving the 43rd district; Rep. Michael Fortner, a Republican serving the 49th district; Rep. Kay Hatcher a Republican serving the 50th district; Sen. Linda Holmes, a Democrat serving the 42nd district; Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, a Democrat serving the 84th district; Sen. Karen McConnaughay, a Republican serving the 33rd district; Rep. Robert Pritchard, a Republican serving the 70th district; and Rep. Mike Tryon, a Republican serving the 66th district.
The legislators will share their perspectives on the upcoming legislative session in Springfield and the challenges that the state of Illinois will face this year. They will also address three questions that represent legislative issues of importance to local governments.
The cost to attend the event is $22 for members of Metro West and $30 for nonmembers.
