At Elgin Tournament: South Elgin played strong all day in the Elgin Tournament, turning in a 4-1 record which earned the Storm a second-place finish. South Elgin wasted no time getting started as it defeated Dundee-Crown 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, Rolling Meadows 25-22, 14-25, 25-17, and host Elgin 25-16, 25-17 before eventually falling to Leyden 26-24, 19-25, 25-9. The Storm would bounce back however, in their final match of the day to defeat Highland Park 28-30, 25-16, 25-11.
Alyssa Krause and Amber Schnecke led the Storm offensively with 64 and 39 kills respectively while Courtney Sanocki recorded 120 assists to go along with her 50 digs. Sarah Havemann registered a team-high 67 digs over the 5 matches.
Dundee-Crown (7-20) struggled offensively and defensively as it was unable to come away with a victory on the day. The Chargers fell to South Elgin, Leyden 25-16, 25-14, Rolling Meadows 25-13, 25-13, Highland Park 25-18, 25-19, and Elgin 25-20, 25-16 en route to an 0-5 finish in the tournament.
Nicole Desmond recorded 15 kills while Lauren Mosher added 10 kills. Tess Banres chipped in 32 assists for Dundee-Crown.
At Autumnfest Tournament: Huntley (24-9) turned in a 3-2 record at the Autumnfest Tournament which was good enough for an 11th-place finish overall and a third-place finish in the Silver Division. The Red Raiders started off with a win over Lisle 25-24, 25-14, then picked up another victory in the third match of the day against Willowbrook 11-25, 25-23, 25-17, and finally picking up their third and final victory in their last match of the game against West Chicago 25-15, 25-14. Huntley's two losses came against Prairie Ridge 25-27, 25-20, 27-25 and Lemont 20-25, 25-19, 26-24.
Ashley Smith and Sam Boesch led the Red Raiders with 26 and 21 kills respectively over the 5 matches while Amanda Carroll recorded a team high 89 assists to go along with her 13 kills and 23 digs. Amy Dion paced the defense with 79 digs while also chipping in 9 kills.
Burlington Central finishes second: The Rockets (24-8) continued their strong play at the Lincoln-Way Central Tournament posting a 3-1 record and capturing a second-place finish. Burlington Central defeated Plainfield Central 25-14, 25-19, Lincoln-Way West 25-16, 25-16, and Joliet 25-21, 25-22 before eventually falling in a close match to Champaign Central 25-22, 21-25, 25-23.
Stephanie Holthus paced the Rockets with 56 kills, 12 aces, and 33 digs while Taylor Scully added 22 kills, 7 aces, and 22 digs. Kaitlyn O'Reilly chipped in 95 assists to go along with her 11 aces. Audrey Djukic also contributed offensively with 16 kills over the 4 matches.
