No. 4 Marist (9-2) at No. 1 Fremd (11-0)

When: 6 p.m. today at Hale Hildebrandt Field

Road to the quarterfinals: Marist d. No. 13 Schaumburg 41-14, No. 5 Naperville Central 24-7; Fremd d. No. 16 Naperville North 22-14, No. 9 Lake Park 21-14

Playoff history: Marist is making its 11th playoff trip and advanced to the quarterfinals for the fourth time. It reached the 6A title game in 1986 and lost 26-6 to Buffalo Grove and lost in the quarters 42-7 to Mt. Carmel last year and 14-0 to Loyola in 1993. Fremd is making its 15th straight trip and 20th overall. It lost in its previous three quarterfinal trips - 32-28 to Glenbard North in 2007, 21-7 to York in 2006 and 18-13 to Stevenson in 1996.

Advancement: Fremd would host No. 3 Glenbard North (10-1) or travel to No. 7 Downers Grove South (9-2) and Marist would be on the road in the semifinals.
