Parssinen powers Mundelein past Wauconda

Mundelein d. Wauconda: Michelle Parssinen and Megan Barron had 7 and 6 kills, respectively, as the Mustangs won the North Suburban Conference crossover 25-12, 25-16.
Parssinen and Gina Withrow added 4 blocks apiece, while Alysa Fritz chalked 14 digs for Mundelein (16-6). Kelsey Sullivan lofted 25 assists. Brittany Jones had 4 kills.
Wauconda (16-5) got 5 kills and 2 aces from Maddie Westman. Michelle Waltenburg had 8 digs and Megan Tallman tallied 10 assists.
Grayslake Central d. Woodstock North: Lydia Boyle recorded her 125th kill of the season, as the Rams won the Fox Valley Fox match 25-16, 25-21.
Klaudia Basierak and Boyle slammed 7 and 6 kills, respectively, and Lucy Peterson added 5 kills. Stephanie Pimpo totaled 18 digs and 3 aces for Grayslake Central (10-17, 3-5). Emily Anderson was 66-of-66 setting with 20 assists.
"This was a great win for us," Rams coach Jason Janczak said. "Our passing from our libero Steph Pimpo and our (defensive specialist) Marina Treto was really on. Emily Anderson set a great match and was instrumental in speeding up our offense. All in all, a true team effort."
Woodstock d. Grayslake North: Brianna Leon had 3 kills and Lauren Trahan was 33-of-33 setting with 9 assists for the Knights in their 25-22, 25-22 loss. Grayslake North fell to 6-20 and 2-7 in the Fox Valley Fox.
