Conant's girls basketball team opened up a 28-9 lead at half over Vernon Hills and never looked back for a 55-26 victory at the Mundelein Christmas tournament.
Coach Dan Traver's team (5-8) won its second straight game in the 16-team event which concludes on Saturday.
Senior Kim Davis poured in a career-high 20 points to lead the Cougars (1-2 in the tourney) while senior guard Ashley Lindeman added 10 points and junior forward Kelly Lomas 9.
Davis connected for 4 3-pointers while Lomas, junior Alyssa Rawleigh and sophomore Allie Bauch each had one.
St. Viator 48, Leyden 24: St. Viator improved to 10-4 and 3-0 in its own Snowflake as Emily Leazer (10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist), Meghan Malone (9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist) and Taylor Skala (9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals) led the way.
Coach Paul Bjerkness's club raced out to a 26-10 halftime lead over the Eagles (0-15), who were led by junior Yocelin Dorado and sophomore Dana Sullivan.
Hinsdale Central 50, Schaumburg 48: Schaumburg (3-11) was led by sophomore Alyssa Saklak (career-high 17 points), senior Taylor Kosla (13) and junior Jennifer Pomagier (8) in the Wheaton North consolation tourney game.
Trinity 55, Barrington 49: Junior Abby Kirchoff scored 19 points for Barrington (8-6), which was tied 20-20 at half with Trinity (11-2) in the Suburban Showcase Holiday third-round contest held at Niles West.
Junior Sarah Mass added 12 points for the Fillies (1-2 in tourney), who were without prominent scorer and rebounder Emily Harris (vacation).
"To not have Emily and stay with Trinity is a credit to these kids," said Barrington coach Babbi Barreiro. "Trinity is a good team and we played right with them. We just couldn't get some shots to drop in the second half and gave up some easy looks. But I thought we played well."
St. Charles North 58, Maine West 40: Senior guard Alli Ellwood scored a career-high 24 points with 2 3-pointers for Maine West (5-8) in the nonconference game in Des Plaines.
Rolling Meadows 36, Belvidere 29: Junior guard Madelynn Conlin scored a career-high 18 points with 2 3-pointers to lead Meadows (5-7, 1-2) to a win in third-round action of the Mundelein tourney.
