Fermilab hosts nature photo exhibit
Take in the beauty of nature in all seasons when the Fermilab Art Gallery presents "Nature's Masterpieces: Chicago Wilderness and Beyond" with photographs by Ray Mathis of McHenry. It will be on display Jan. 9 to March 4.
An artist reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 in Fermilab Art Gallery on the second floor of Wilson Hall, at Wilson and Kirk roads in Batavia. Enter through Kirk and Pine Street or Batavia Road.
"As a teen, I set a goal to never miss a sunrise or sunset," Mathis said. "I've stuck to that goal for over 40 years. The vast majority of my images are the product of rising long before sunrise, or staying out until after sunset.
The gallery is open before and after arts, lectures and film series events. The art gallery is also open by appointment by contacting Georgia Schwender at georgia@fnal.gov or (630) 840-6825. Visit www.fnal.gov/pub/Art_Gallery/.
