Alexandria Lee scored 17 points and Vincenza Ranallo added 16 Wednesday night as St. Edward's girls basketball team opened the season with a 57-40 win over Rockford Guilford at the Dakota tournament.

Rena Ranallo added 12 points for the Green Wave, who jumped ahead 29-19 at halftime and then never looked back.

Hononegah 85, CL South 27: Stephanie Melone had 11 points and Brittany Pittas added 9 for the Gators (0-5) in this loss at the Dundee-Crown tournament.

Fremd 74, Jacobs 45: Melanie Schwerdtmann had 15 points and Jessica Tennant added 11 but the Golden Eagles slipped to 0-5 on the season with this loss at the Dundee-Crown tournament.

St. Viator 54, Dundee-Crown 34: Junior Amari Mays led Dundee-Crown (0-5) with 9 points in this loss at the Chargers' own tournament. Diamond Williams had 8 points for D-C.
