Kelsey Lodge drove in the go-ahead run and Larkin scored six times in the bottom of the sixth to beat West Aurora 7-4 in nonconference softball action in Elgin Monday.
Corinne Wimmer was 3-for-4 with a double for the Royals (3-8), who pounded out 12 hits in the game. Lexi Smithberg (2 RBI), Alex Buhrow (3B), Sam King (2-for-4), Anna Esterino (2B, 2 RBI) and Maggie Hofmann (2B) also contributed to the offense.
Smithberg was the winning pitcher, throwing the final two innings in relief of Megan Johnson.
Larkin hosts crosstown rival Elgin in an Upstate Eight Conference game today at 4:30 p.m.
Bartlett 4, Neuqua Valley 3: Bartlett senior Callie Dennison drew a bases-loaded walk off Neuqua ace Colleen Hohman that scored the eventual game-winning run in the sixth inning as Bartlett geared up for an Upstate Eight showdown at St. Charles North today by downing Neuqua on the road. Lauren Chuchvara was 3-for-3 for the Hawks (7-2, 4-0) and Katie Popovich added a double. Dennison (6-1) picked up the win, allowing 4 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Jacobs 12, CL South 2: Jacobs broke loose for 12 runs in the final two innings to down CL South in the Fox Valley (Valley) opener for both teams. Jenna Teson and Sara Jacobson were each 3-for-4 for the Golden Eagles, who had 15 singles. Amber Livingston went 2-for-3. Marissa Lombardo (3-1) allowed 5 hits in the circle for Jacobs (4-2, 1-0). Liz Adams had a 2-run home run for the Gators (4-2, 0-1) and Sam Golf took the loss in the circle.
St. Edward 8, Wheaton Academy 0: BreAunna Medinger (4 RBI), Tarah McShane (2B) and Kristina Brockner (4-for-4, 3 RBI) all hit home runs as St. Edward (5-2) knocked off Wheaton Academy in a Suburban Christian crossover. Sarah Field picked up the win for the Green Wave, allowing just 1 hit and striking out six in 5 innings pitched.
Lake Park 10, Streamwood 0: Streamwood (4-7, 0-2) left 5 runners in scoring position and couldn't push anything across the plate in this Upstate Eight loss. Jenna Szabo was the losing pitcher for the Sabres.
McHenry 11, Dundee-Crown 0: The Chargers (0-5, 0-1) managed just 3 hits, 2 of them from Melany Love, in this FVC Valley loss. Love was also the losing pitcher.
College softballJudson sweeps: Haley Secor and Nicole Dimiceli each went 4-for-6 on the day as Judson University swept a CCAC doubleheader from Purdue-North Central, winning 4-3 and 10-2. Dimiceli had 2 home runs and 3 RBI for the day while Secor had a double and 3 RBI. Lizzy Jacobson, who also hit a home run in Game 1, was the winning pitcher in Game 2 to improve to 9-4 on the year. Sarah Boyer (6-5) won Game 2 for the Eagles (18-16, 4-6).
