Concert to raise funds for college scholarships
Submitted by Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Rotary Club
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Rotary Club, a charitable organization raising funds for college scholarships for young community leaders, will hold its community fundraising event, a live performance by Under the Streetlamp. Recent leading cast members of the Tony Award-winning smash hit “Jersey Boys,” the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, deliver the sounds of the 1960s in an electrifying evening of unforgettable hits. Enjoy some-of-that-rock-and-roll-music, as well as doo-wop ditties, Motown melodies and cool Rat Pack favorites.
These four guys, each a gifted performer, met playing a band onstage and later went on to form a real rock sensation of their very own. Between them, they have appeared on Broadway, in feature films, and on your television, including special appearances during their Jersey Boys tenure on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Primetime Emmy Awards,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Under the Streetlamp offers audiences the rare opportunity to get to know these rising stars of stage and screen as they relate hilarious and touching stories of a life lived in show business.
The performance will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Road in Algonquin. Event tickets range in price from $40 to $65. For tickets, visit www.algonquinlithrotary.com. A limited quantity of tickets will be available at the door; cash or check only.
