Naperville North’s Marshall has hitting streak snapped

Naperville North’s Sammy Marshall had her 48-game hitting streak snapped, as the Huskies senior went 0-for-4 in a 5-2 loss at West Aurora Friday.

Caitlyn Warren went 3-for-3 with a solo homer for Naperville North (8-9, 3-6 DuPage Valley Conference), which committed 4 errors in West Aurora’s 2-run first inning. Marshall had hit safely in every game last season and Naperville North’s first 16 this spring.

Kelsey Gonzalez had both of the Redhawks#146; hits.West Chicago 11, Glenbard East 2:The No. 12 Wildcats (15-6, 8-0 DVC) erased an early 2-0 deficit with a big 8-run second inning in West Chicago. Jen Konchar went 2-for-4 with a double and 5 RBI, Amanda Gosbeth hit her first varsity homer and winning pitcher Mary Connolly (13-4) struck out 10.Sandburg 3, Glenbard South 2:Defending Class 4A champion Sandburg scored 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally in Glen Ellyn. Jane Trzaska slugged a solo homer and Rachel Cohen doubled twice for No. 7 Glenbard South (13-3).Downers Grove North 9, Oak Park 1:Winning pitcher Dale Ryndak (10-1) struck out three, and cranked a three-run homer for the No. 3 Trojans (19-2, 6-1 West Suburban Silver).
