Lake Park recovers to beat Elk Grove

Lake Park saw a 5-point third-quarter lead slip away but recovered to beat Elk Grove 51-48 in the Chuck Mitchell Tournament at Fenton.

Elk Grove (1-2) scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to take a 46-41 lead.

The Lancers (2-0) did not score in the quarter until there was 3:06 left. A.J. Colontonio scored his only basket on a 3-point shot with 58 seconds left in the game to give the Lancers the lead at 51-48.

A three point shot by the Grens’ Anthony Jimenez (12 points) bounced off the rim as time expired.

Dave Prentis led Lake Park with 15 points and Steve Wuthrich added 10 points.
