Lake Park tops Waubonsie Valley
Tara Palandri went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in, and No. 17 Lake Park jumped on No. 13 Waubonsie Valley for 7 runs in the first two innings for a 9-6 win in Roselle.
Stephanie Starr went 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI and Kelly O’Neill had a single, 2 walks and 2 runs scored for the Lancers (13-7, 7-1 Upstate Eight Valley), who won their seventh straight game. Amanda Lack hit a two-run homer, doubled and scored 3 runs and Amanda Minahan was 3-for-4 with a run and drove in 2 for Waubonsie (14-5, 6-2).
Lisle 10, Westmont 4:
Mackenzie Buchelt went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI, and the Lions (16-3, 6-3 Interstate Eight Conference) put the game out of reach with a 7-run fourth inning in Lisle. Grace Riley went 3-for-4 with a double and Kelly Urban 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored for the Lions, who won their sixth in a row.
Immaculate Conception 9, Illiana Christian 3:
Jocelyn Sanchez was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Knights (18-5), who pounded out 16 hits in a nonconference road win. Maria Kieliszewski, Katelyn Conenna and Jenn Clementi all went 2-for-4 and Jessica Conenna and Brenna Langan each drove in 2 runs.
Bartlett 12, Metea Valley 2:
The visiting Mustangs got out to a 2-0 lead, but No. 10 Bartlett exploded for 2 runs in the bottom of the third and 6 more in the third. Alisa Perna went 2-for-3 with a homer and a double for Metea (7-7, 4-5 Upstate Eight Valley). Alex Morales homered and drove in 2 runs for Bartlett (16-3).
