Saturday's Fox Valley roundup

Charlie Oliver scored a total of 5 goals on the day and was named the tournament MVP as Crystal Lake South won the Gold Division championship of the Hononegah Invitational.

The Gators (12-1-1) beat St. Edward 4-0, Rockford Christian 3-0 and Rockford Guilford 2-0 in the championship game as David Walsh recorded his 11th shutout of the season.

Trevor Bittenbender, who scored 3 goals in Saturday's game, was named to the all-tournament team for CL South, which went 4-0 in the tournament and didn't allow a goal while scoring 12.

Elgin at Hononegah: The Maroons (2-10-1) couldn't find the back of the net Saturday, losing to Dunlap 1-0 and to Rockford Guilford 3-0 at the Hononegah Invite. Tony Benitez had 12 saves on the day for Elgin.

Jacobs at Hononegah: The Golden Eagles split their games at the Hononegah Invite, beating the host school 1-0 on penalty kicks and losing to Springfield 1-0. Taylor Pignitaro, Matt Ehrhardt, John Kowalski and Ian Treacy scored PK goals for Jacobs against Hononegah. A.J. Pfabschacher had 6 saves on the day for the Eagles (8-3).

South Elgin 1, Minooka 1: Mike Kozielek scored off an assist from Vince Szalay as the Storm (5-4-2) tied Minooka in a game called at halftime due to weather conditions. Andrew Perry had 5 saves in goal for South Elgin.

Kelly 2, Streamwood 1: Victor Aguilar scored off an assist from David Perez but the Sabres (1-11) fell in the final round of the Pepsi Showdown. Jose Resendiz had 8 saves in goal for Streamwood.

Downers Grove North 5, Bartlett 1: Charlie Sordini's goal off an assist from Fabio Aiello was Bartlett's only highlight in this Pepsi Showdown loss. Alex Busch made 5 saves in goal for the Hawks (6-3) before leaving the game in the second half after being kicked in the face.
