Program to tell about Nellie Bly

On Saturday, March 19, you are invited to celebrate Women’s History Month at the annual brunch where Lynn Rymarz will portray Nellie Bly, “Daredevil Reporter,” who defied the stereotypical roles for women of her time.

She will speak about her race around the world in record time, why she was committed to an insane asylum and how she was a champion for women’s rights.

The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. with socializing, followed by the brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Elgin Community College Business Center Dining Room, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin. Cost is $15. For reservations or information, contact the YWCA Elgin at 847 742-7930.
