Benet pulls out win over Plainfield East

No. 1 Benet scored a run in the top of the seventh to force extra innings, then erupted for 6 runs in the eighth to hold off Plainfield East 13-7 on Monday. Kendall Duffy had 3 hits, 4 runs scored and 3 runs drive in for Benet (11-1), which led 6-1 at one point before a 5-run Plainfield East fourth.

Trinity 3, Downers Grove North 1:

Chase Machain struck out nine and Abby Ramirez had 2 hits as Trinity (10-3) knocked the No. 2 Trojans (9-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Naperville North 13, St. Charles East 2:

Kathleen Hahne (4-0) homered, scored 3 runs and tossed a four-hitter for the Huskies (5-2) in a rout of the No. 16 Saints (7-5) in St. Charles. Kailee Budicin went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored for Naperville North.

Montini 3, Aurora Central 2:

Christina Barrett’s two-run double in the bottom of the eighth scored Morganne Evans and Lauren Trojnar with the winning runs for the Broncos (5-6, 3-0 Suburban Christian Conference Blue), who won their fourth straight. Winning pitcher Trojnar (3-3) struck out nine.

Lake Park 6, Glenbard West 5:

The visiting Lancers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and held on in Glen Ellyn. Kelly O’Neill and Stephanie Starr both doubled for Lake Park (4-6).
