Centegra hosts Weigh Less, Live More event Jan. 24

Centegra Health System will offer residents of McHenry County and surrounding areas an opportunity to learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle during a special event. The Centegra Weigh Less, Live More Event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 24, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road. There is no cost for this event.
“At this free event, participants will learn important information about health, fitness, nutrition, diabetes, lifestyle choices, personal wellness and more,” said Matt Carlen, vice president of health and wellness for Centegra Health System.
All under one roof, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy free screenings; observe a healthy cooking demonstration by Kaleigh Cunningham and Lauren Henke, registered dietitians at Centegra; visit interactive booths and meet with clinical professionals regarding nutrition, heart, weight loss, diabetes and Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Centers; and hear two physicians and one nurse practitioner speak about living healthier lifestyles
Dr. Jyothi Gogineni, Centegra Physician Care endocrinologist, will discuss living a healthy life with diabetes. She will also share tips diabetics can use for monitoring their progress.
Dr. Amir Heydari, medical director of Centegra Weight-Loss Surgery Center with Centegra Physician Care, will speak about weighing the many options for weight loss and finding a solution that works best for each individual.
Nurse practitioner Tanya Tanzillo will present to attendees information about two weight-loss solutions, Optifast and Optitrim.
“The event demonstrates the full continuum of care offered by Centegra Health System, from prevention, diagnosis and treatment, to follow-up support and ongoing disease management,” said Heydari.
