County building to feature sculpture

Through Friday, July 12, McHenry County will host a 6-foot-tall replica of the famous Seward Johnson sculpture “Unconditional Surrender” (also known as “Kiss Seen Around the World”) in the lobby of the McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

The scene is one of the most romantic and enduring photos of the 20th century. It captures the famous LIFE magazine photo of the Time Square Kiss depicting the moment when a nurse was kissed by a joyous sailor on Aug. 14, 1945 (V-J Day).

Take the opportunity between now and July 12 to view this piece of artwork at the McHenry County Administration Building 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.
