Wheaton Fire Chief and President of the DuPage Fire Chiefs Association Greg Berk (left) and Hinsdale Fire Chief Mike Kelly (center), Vice President of the DFCA, watch as College of DuPage President Dr. Robert L. Breuder (right) dons the white fire helmet signifying he has been made an “Honorary Chief” by the DuPage County Fire Chiefs Association.

“It became apparent to all of us after the dedication of the Homeland Security Education Center that we needed to recognize the leadership of College of DuPage. The Board of Directors of Dupage County Fire Chiefs voted unanimously to recognize Dr. Breuder by providing him with the white volunteers helmet,” said Chief Berk, who noted that this is the first time he has witnessed the DCFA bestow this honor in the eight years he's been on the board. “We greatly appreciate the commitment Dr. Breuder and the Board of Trustees have made to the future of the Fire Service/EMS program here at College of DuPage and to the entire DuPage County community.”
