Bison clinch East title

Senior Glen Bernard had 5 goals as Buffalo Grove clinched an outright Mid-Suburban East championship Tuesday by beating host Rolling Meadows 16-7.

Ian Rodriguez contributed 4 goals for the Bison (16-8, 9-1), who will meet Palatine in the league championship game next Wednesday.

Damian Fitzsimons had 4 goals and Dan Briggs 3 for Rolling Meadows (4-14, 2-8), which edged BG for division title honors last year on goal differential.

Wheeling 9, Hersey 8: Andy Eiter led all scorers with 4 goals and Tim McDaniel had 3 to help the host Wildcats (11-7, 6-3) edge the Huskies (11-9, 4-5). Neil Mier led the way for Hersey with 3 goals.

St. Viator 12, Libertyville 7: Eric Primdahl had 8 goals and goalkeeper Robert Bansfield made 10 saves to lift the visiting Lions (12-11) to a nonconference victory.

Schaumburg 15, Fremd 11: Brandon Kase (5 goals), Randy Carr (4) and Mike Gergen (4) helped the visiting Saxons (19-8, 8-2) to an MSL West triumph. Zach Zambelli and Phil Schroeder both had 3 goals for Fremd (6-14, 5-5).

Conant 15, Hoffman Estates 11: Blake Thompson, Ryan Chiero and Adam Wojciechowski had 3 goals apiece to help Conant (8-12, 5-5) pull out an MSL West win at Hoffman Estates. The Hawks (3-20, 0-10) trailed only 12-11 heading into the fourth quarter before being outscored 3-0.
