Breaking down the MSL West tiebreakers

All four Mid-Suburban West boys basketball teams tied with 6-3 division records still have a shot at getting to the league championship game on Feb. 23.

Here's a basic look at what each team needs to have happen in Friday's 7:30 p.m. games to get there:

Barrington In with a win over visiting Hoffman Estates. The Broncos hold all the tiebreaker advantages.

Conant In with a win over visiting Fremd and loss by Barrington.

Fremd In with a win at Conant and losses by Barrington and Schaumburg.

Schaumburg In with a win over visiting Palatine, a Fremd win over Conant and a Barrington loss.

The winner will visit Prospect for the title. The MSL East could end up in a four-way tie if Buffalo Grove beats Prospect and Rolling Meadows and Hersey win, but Prospect holds all the tiebreaker advantages.

There has never been a four-way tie for an MSL boys basketball division title.
