Feece, Vernon Hills handle North Chicago

Vernon Hills 59, North Chicago 36: Jessica Feece had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists in leading the host Cougars to a win in first-round regional action. Teammate Meri Bennett-Swanson added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Lake Zurich 65, Deerfield 49: At the Stevenson regional, Audrey Bauer had a big night, pumping in a career-high 38 points to lead the Bears to victory. She also finished with 16 rebounds.

Carmel 48, Grant 21: At the Fremd regional, Carmel used a 16-4 advantage in the second quarter to build up a big lead. The Corsairs then outscored Grant 12-2 in the third quarter to pull away for good. Jackie Meier had 14 points and Kristine Ruhl added 12 points for Carmel. Donnie Taggert led Grant with 8 points.

Palatine 56, Waukegan 47: At the Waukegan regional, Palatine upended the host Bulldogs thanks to 18 points from Katie Mnichowicz. Waukegan got 10 points apiece from Julia Coad and Sarah Angelos.
