Athletes, learn about DetermiNation Endurance events

The American Cancer Society DetermiNation program empowers athletes of all abilities to dedicate their training for and participation in marathons, half-marathons, triathlons, cycling, and other endurance events to a lifesaving effort to end cancer by raising funds and awareness to fight the disease.

Information sessions are being held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at The Competitive Foot, 102 N. Marion St., Oak Park, or 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, at Naperville Running Company, 34 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. Races, runner amenities, training partners, and time commitment will be discussed by current volunteers, past DetermiNation athletes and American Cancer Society staff partners.

Additionally teleconference information sessions are being offered throughout the month of March and April. To register to attend, call the American Cancer Society at 312-279-7243, or visit acsDetermiNation.org/IllinoisInfoSession. Teleconference dates are:

· Monday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m.

· Saturday, March 19 at 8:00 a.m.

· Wednesday, March 23 at 12:00 p.m.

· Tuesday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m.

· Tuesday, April 5 at 8:00 a.m.

· Friday, April 15 at 12:00 p.m.

· Monday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m.

· Wednesday, April 27 at 12:30
