Muslim Leader to Talk about Islam and ISIS on April 3 and 10
The past President of the Naperville Islamic Center, Aadil Farid, will talk about Islam and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in two Sunday sessions at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 South Washington Street, Naperville, Illinois 60540. The church is immediately south of Edward Hospital.
The first session on Sunday, April 3, will focus on the core beliefs of Islam. The second session on Sunday, April 10, will discuss the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, commonly known as ISIS. Both sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
"Our Muslim neighbors are an important part of our community," said Bill Wentz, Chairman of the Adult Education Committee at Our Saviour's. "Those of us who are not Muslim should engage in constructive dialogue with them. We should learn about their basic beliefs and understand what it is like to live in the United States as a Muslim. With ISIS being in the news every day, we need to know more about what ISIS is, why it is attractive to certain people, and how Muslims in our community view ISIS. Hopefully, Aadil Farid's talk will initiate more conversation and, with it, greater understanding and tolerance."
All sessions are free and open to the public. However, seating is limited. For more information about this program or other educational programs, contact Our Saviour's at 630-355-2522.
