Care4 Breast Cancer 5K steps off Sunday

The 16th annual Care4 Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk will be held Sunday, Oct. 16, at Woodstock North High School, 3000 Raffel Road.

This annual event raises money for the Family Health Partnership Clinic's Breast Cancer Fund.

The fund provides early detection, screening and educational services to women and men in McHenry County who have no insurance. Last year, this event raised more than $175,000. This year, more than 2,400 participants are expected, and preregistration is strongly encouraged.

For the 10th year, Sage Products Inc. is the presenting sponsor.

The Care4 Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk begins at 7:15 a.m. with same day-registration and an 8:30 a.m. race start time.

Online registration at $30 is easy and secure at www.hpclinic.org - click on the pink ribbon. Participants can do late registration for $35 at the clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 401 Congress Parkway in Crystal Lake. Packet pickup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the clinic.
