Teams invited to join Literacy Connection's 19th annual Trivia Bee fundraiser

Registration is open for The Literacy Connection's 19th annual Trivia Bee Fundraiser on Saturday, April 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin.

Four-member teams compete in three rounds of fun, challenging, trivia questions and the top three teams will take home prizes and trophies.

Individuals, groups, or businesses can participate in the Trivia Bee and support local adult literacy programs with the $500 tax-deductible registration fee.

The community is invited to participate or attend. Spectator tickets will be sold at the door for $5. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available.

Grand prize raffle tickets are on sale now! This is a chance to win an Apple iPad, two tickets Florence & the Machine on June 12, or $250 cash!

Tickets are $10 each or three for $20. Tickets are available through The Literacy Connection office. Winners need not be present.

The event will also feature a gift basket raffle. Local businesses are encouraged to make a donation to support this popular part of the event. The agency is accepting gift cards to restaurants, stores, spas/salons, entertainment venues, etc., as well as fine-quality gifts such as gourmet foods/candy, bath and body products, gifts for the home, and more.

For acknowledgment in the event program and pre-event publicity, team registration and donations must be received by Friday, April 1.

The Literacy Connection is a 501(c)3) nonprofit, community-based affiliate of ProLiteracy and serves 16 northwest suburban Chicago communities including Algonquin, Bartlett, Carpentersville, Cary, Elgin, South Elgin, East Dundee, West Dundee, Gilberts, Hanover Park, Hampshire, Hoffman Estates, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Streamwood, and Schaumburg.
