Celebrate Obama's birthday with cake, trivia games and prizes
Barack Obama is turning 56 in August and the Obama Legacy Initiative is throwing a party.
Along with the traditional cake and candles, there are plans for "party games" including a raffle and an auction with prizes, such as lunch for 12 at Sullivan's Steakhouse in Naperville, a round of golf for a foursome at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, and a handcrafted quilt valued at over $900.
The Chicago Trivia Guys will host a fun and friendly competition to test partygoers' knowledge of American history and democracy. Attendees can assemble their best team and go head-to-head with teams from Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties to win medals and ribbons and serious bragging rights.
Teams will consist of 10 people, but individuals wish to attend, organizers will help form teams so everyone can compete.
This event is hosted by The Obama Legacy Initiative, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States.
All supporters are welcome to come out for a little summertime fun and networking.
It will be 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at IBEW 701 Union Hall, 28600 Bella Vista Parkway in Warrenville.
Tickets are $50 per person (tax deductible contribution). It includes networking, trivia game, appetizers and birthday cake and cash bar.
