Wheaton Municipal Band to holds auditions in May for the 2022 season
The Wheaton Municipal Band currently is taking appointments for auditions for the 2022 summer season.
The auditions for all concert band instruments including string bass and percussion.
The audition consists of performing a prepared work and sight reading.
Copies of the prepared music are available on the band's website, wheatonmunicipalband.org/request-audition.
Auditions take place on Sunday, May 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. (winds only) and Sunday, May 29, from 1-6 p.m. (winds and percussion).
Auditions will take place at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St.
The Wheaton Municipal Band 2022 season runs from Thursdays, from June 9 to Aug. 4.
Members are required to attend a Wednesday night rehearsal and the Thursday night concert.

The Wheaton Municipal Band, established in 1930, plays a variety of music ranging from traditional marches to musicals and classics to challenging contemporary pieces. The band is directed by Dr. Bruce Moss, director of bands at Bowling Green State University, who is in his 43rd year as the director of the band.
The band features prominent guest conductors and soloists during the season, interspersed with outstanding soloists from within the band. This mix of popular and classical music, with thrilling soloists, performed by a professional-quality ensemble, is designed to provide something enjoyable for everyone.
