MCC to stage comedy 'Almost, Maine'

The new Black Box Theatre at McHenry County College will present "Almost, Maine" by John Cariani at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.

Performances will continue Nov. 7-8, 13-15, and 20-22 in the theater, in Building E at the college, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

On a cold clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised.

The cast includes Heather Bilecki, Olivia Jensen, Bridget Nugent, all of Crystal Lake; Ben Burra of Algonquin; Amanda Lewis and Maddi Pappalardo, both of Woodstock; Nathaniel Miller of Cary; Parker Stillwell of Johnsburg; Mathew Torres and Dennis Hubbard, both of Lake in the Hills; and Greg Waldyn of McHenry.

"Almost, Maine" is directed by Jay Geller of Kildeer and his crew includes assistant director Katy McCord of Crystal Lake, lighting designer Rick Amundsen of Woodstock, costume design Tish Lyon of Woodstock, set designer Sue Lewis of Crystal Lake, and stage manager TJ Neveitt of McHenry.

"Almost, Maine" is rated PG and appropriate for all audiences. Tickets are $15 for general public and $10 for MCC students, faculty/staff, alumni and senior citizens. To reserve a seat or for details, call Jay Geller at (815) 455-8746 or email jgeller@mchenry.edu.
