Advocate Good Samaritan

• Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital needs volunteers to work in the auxiliary's Gingham Tree Resale Shop. For details, call (630) 275-1181.

American Cancer Society

• Clerical help is needed in the American Cancer Society's office in Oakbrook Terrace. A flexible schedule is available, with no minimum hours required. For details, call (630) 932-1141.

Animal Heartline Humane Association

• Animal Heartline Humane Association of Naperville needs foster homes for rescued dogs.

Familiarity with animal behavior is helpful. All foster homes are screened prior to placement.

Bridge Communities

• Volunteers with professional teaching experience are needed to tutor school-age children in Glendale Heights and Naperville who are part of the Bridge Communities transitional housing program for homeless families.

Cantigny Park

DuPage Convalescent Center

• The DuPage Convalescent Center currently is seeking volunteers 14 and older. Various opportunities and schedules are available.

DuPage County Health Department

• Volunteers are needed to deliver food to people infected with HIV. Volunteers must be 18 or older, have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Training is provided. For details, call (630) 682-7979, ext. 7310.

• The Mental Health Division needs volunteers to work with mentally ill clients or provide office support services. For details, call (630) 682-7979, ext. 7027.

DuPage Senior Citizen's Council

• Volunteers are needed to distribute meals to homebound senior citizens throughout DuPage County.

Deliveries take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers may deliver meals daily, weekly or as a substitute. For details, call DuPage Senior Citizens Council at (630) 620-0804.

• The Nutrition Program is seeking volunteers to package food for delivery in their Lisle, Westmont and Wheaton kitchens. Other duties include general, light kitchen duties such as cleaning countertops and sweeping floors. For details, call (630) 620-0804.

DuPage Senior Services

• DuPage County Senior Services Long Term Care Ombudsman Program needs volunteers to visit DuPage County nursing homes as resident advocates.

Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley Region

• Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley Region in Villa Park needs volunteers in its Child Development Center. Volunteers may provide assistance in child care or therapy, assist with clerical tasks or help with grounds or building maintenance. For details, call (630) 261-6240.

Family Shelter Service

Little Friends, Inc.

• Little Friends, Inc. needs volunteers to work in the Serendipity resale shop, 12 W. Jefferson St., Naperville.

Volunteers help sort and display merchandise, cashier and assist customers. No experience is necessary.

Volunteers must be 21 or older, agree to a background check, attend training and commit to at least eight hours per month.
