Battle of the District 15 Bands: District 15 Educational Foundation is hosting a Battle of the District 15 bands event from 6-10 p.m. Nov. 8 at Durty Nellie's in Palatine. Bands are being sought to compete. Band members must be 21 or older, a parent of a District 15 student or alumni of a District 15 school. Prizes will be awarded to the top two bands. Four Paws calendars: Four Paws Animal Foundation is now selling 2009 calendars for $12.50, which depict some of the organization's rescues as well as family pets as a fundraiser to help support their adoption and rescue efforts.
