Taste of Cary Grove this weekend

Cary Grove Neighborhood Life will host the Taste of Cary Grove from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17 at Lake Julian in Cary. Continuing its mission to feed the hungry, all profits from the event will be donated to the Cary Grove Food Pantry.

Ten local restaurants will be participating in the "Taste" including 5 O'clock Steak House, Wool Street, Galati's, Brunch Café, The Tracks, Kojak's, Boardwalk Bob's, Peter's Bakery, Chicago Eats Catering and The Coffee Station. Each restaurant will be featuring a "taste" from their menu that is considered a specialty of their establishment.

The Taste will be offered at two seatings - from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. and tickets will be sold for each.

The Taste will feature live entertainment by local band "Jake to the Bone." The event is family friendly and will include a bingo tent with prizes and children's activities and games.

Tickets for the Taste of Cary Grove are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets must be purchased in advance and only 250 seats are available at each seating. The event is expected to sellout, so order your tickets early by visiting the CGNL Web site at www.carygrove.org.

CGNL is also sponsoring Lemonade Stands during the months of July and August throughout the community to support the local Cary Grove P.A.D.S sites that provide food and shelter to the homeless. Chase Bank will award $50 to the best decorated stand.
