BREAD ministry changing hours

What makes the BREAD Ministry of Woodstock Bible Church so special? BREAD began serving the McHenry County community in April 2005 via a weekly food pantry and buffet style hot lunch.

Each week families from throughout the community come together on Sunday afternoon to share in a nourishing meal, enjoy conversation, pick up some groceries to help them get through the week, and learn that there are others who want to help them become self-sufficient and move forward from their current difficult situations.

The BREAD Ministry announces new hours. from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Sunday. BREAD requires no referrals, nor limits the number of visits.

The Woodstock Noon Rotary continues its third year of partnership by supplying much needed meat for distribution via the food pantry. The Woodstock Assembly of God Church Youth Group held a food drive and challenged the adults to meet their highly successful efforts. Moreover, the AOG church has committed to provide monthly financial support. Hearthstone Early Learning Center's little ones also held a food drive, invitiing the Hearthstone seniors to join them. The results was boxes and boxes of items to help local children, families, and seniors. BREAD also thanks the Home State Bank for their recent food drive in conjunction with the senior movie night.

Not only are outside groups making this ministry possible, but those who participate also help each week as they move from simply attending to volunteering with set up, clean up, and serving.
