Crystal Lake South 4, Huntley 0: The Gators (8-0-1, 2-0) continued to dominate on the soccer field Thursday night in their Fox Valley Conference (Valley) match against Huntley (3-4-1, 1-1). Crystal Lake South got some help in the first half as the Red Raiders scored twice in their own goal. Trevor Rittenbender and Charlie Oliver recorded the Gators' other 2 goals while Mike Hernandez added an assist. Kevin Montelongo registered 13 saves in goal for Huntley while Dave Walsh and Joe Berg combined for 2 saves in the shutout.
Burlington Central 9, North Boone 1: The Rockets (5-2, 1-0) scored early and often as they downed Big Northern East foe North Boone. Stephen Kaynish recorded a hat trick and an assist while Erick Uribe scored 2 goals for the Rockets. Christopher Gousios, Brent Ferstl, Ricardo Gomez, and Alexis Camarena registered the other 4 Burlington Central goals while Kyle Reopelle added 2 assists. Alex Pieper, Matt Dahlberg, and Riley Jensen combined for 2 saves in goal.
Cary-Grove 2, McHenry 1: The Trojans (4-0, 2-0) remained perfect as they scratched out a 2-1 victory in this Fox Valley (Valley) matchup. Matt Latawiec got the Trojans on the board scoring an unassisted goal while C.J. Arenberg put home the game-winner on a feed from Bobby Perez. Will Higgins recorded 4 saves in goal.
Waubonsie Valley 1, Bartlett 0: Jeff Gal recorded 4 saves in goal for Bartlett (4-2, 1-1) in this Upstate Eight loss.
Harvard 2, Hampshire 1: The Whip-Purs (3-2-1, 0-1) carried a 1-1 tie into halftime but fell just short in th Big Northern East. Johnny Cabral scored the Whip-Purs' lone goal on an assist from Ismael Morales. Marcus Quick registered 8 saves in goal.
East Aurora 3, Elgin 1: The Maroons (3-2-1, 0-1) lost their first Upstate Eight Conference match as they could not manage to score a goal in the second half of play at East Aurora. Cuauhtemoc Estrada scored Elgin's only goal off of a feed from Juan Carmargo. Osiel Ravadan recorded 8 saves in goal.
Larkin 2, West Chicago 0: The Royals (2-5-2) came out on top in the Pepsi Showdown. Erik Rodriguez scored Larkin's first goal on an assist from Tony Hernandez while Josue Medina added an insurance goal off of a feed from Manny Aguilar. Omar Hernandez registered 5 saves for Larkin.
Whitney Young 4, Streamwood 0: The Sabres (2-5-2) were shutout in the Pepsi Showdown. Edgar Leyva recorded 8 saves in goal for Streamwood.
